Football Game Preview: Stone Ridge Christian Knights vs. Waterford Wildcats

The Stone Ridge Christian Knights will square off against the Waterford Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stone Ridge Christian will be strutting in after a win while Waterford will be coming in after a loss.

Stone Ridge Christian took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Delhi 42-0. That looming 42-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Knights yet this season.

A big part of Stone Ridge Christian's victory came down to the chemistry between Marcus Gray and his top target Daijon Oneil. Gray threw for 192 yards and four TDs on only 12 passes while Oneil picked up 154 receiving yards and three scores. Oneil's longest reception was for an impressive 67 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Meanwhile, Waterford's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Le Grand. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Although Waterford took the loss, they still got scores from Alex Wolfe and C.J. Price.

Stone Ridge Christian's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.8 points on average over those games. As for Waterford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Stone Ridge Christian strolled past Waterford in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 35-16. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
