Basketball Recap: Quentrell Reed's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southeast Bulloch over Portal

Southeast Bulloch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 50-34 to the Portal Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellow Jackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 37-10 back in December of 2024.

Southeast Bulloch lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Quentrell Reed, who posted 12 points. Madison Lanier was another key player, putting up eight points.

Portal found their leader in sophomore London Blackmon, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Blackmon has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyssa King, who earned ten points.

Southeast Bulloch's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Portal, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.

Southeast Bulloch has already played their next game (against Liberty County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Portal has already played their next contest, a 43-38 win against Claxton on the 28th.
