Baseball Recap: Conrad Weiser Comes Up Short

Conrad Weiser extended their losing streak to 13 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-14 in the process. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pottsville Crimson Tide. If the Scouts were looking for revenge after losing 6-5 to the Crimson Tide when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Pottsville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

For Pottsville's part, the team relied heavily on Brody Hess, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Hess has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Alan Kushwarra, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conrad Weiser will face off against Tamaqua at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Raiders will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Scouts surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pottsville, they will square off against Pine Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
