Volleyball Recap: Greendale Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Greendale had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Waukesha South Blackshirts on Tuesday.

Greendale had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-19.

Sophie Latus paced Greendale's offense, picking up nine kills. Latus got some help from Cadence Weidel and her 21 assists. Kayleigh Kowalke controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Greendale's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-15. As for Waukesha South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greendale will challenge Greenfield at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Waukesha South and New Berlin Eisenhower will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
