Soccer Game Preview: The Webb School vs. Goodpasture Christian

The Webb School will venture away from home to take on the Goodpasture Christian Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The Webb School is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Donelson Christian Academy with a sharp 5-1 victory. The matchup was close at halftime, but The Webb School turned on the heat in the second half with five goals.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Goodpasture Christian took on Grace Christian Academy on Friday. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Cougars who were credited with the win. Goodpasture Christian got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Grace Christian Academy's two. The victory was all the more spectacular given Goodpasture Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Grace Christian Academy are ranked 28th).

Hite Hager and Carter Morris scored all three of Goodpasture Christian's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

The Webb School is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four games. As for Goodpasture Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-3-1.

Everything went The Webb School's way against Goodpasture Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as The Webb School made off with a 6-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Feet since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
