Baseball Recap: Desert Mountain Extends Winning Streak to Three

Desert Mountain had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Verrado Vipers by a score of 5-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolves also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Zach Durben made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Durben was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Alex Weeks looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Roman Carrington, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Quentin Starbuck, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Desert Mountain's record now sits at 4-2. As for Verrado, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Mountain will head out to take on Alhambra at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alhambra is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Verrado, they are taking a road trip to challenge Sunrise Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
