Baseball Recap: Orange Triumphs

Orange won the last time they faced Savanna and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers walked away with an 8-5 win over the Rebels. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Orange got a great performance from Cooper Gschwend-Son as he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts Gschwend-Son has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Ethan Giraldo was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. Alex Mendoza was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Orange's record now sits at 11-16-1. As for Savanna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-11.

Looking ahead, Orange will head out to square off against Garden Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Savanna, they will host South Pasadena at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last four games the Tigers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
