Softball Recap: Spring Hill Comes Up Short

Spring Hill extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 32 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-15. They lost 11-1 to the Fairview Yellowjackets. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-0 loss back in April.

As for Fairview, they pushed their record up to 10-17 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Fairview's part, Maddie McGowan made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. McGowan was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylie Ellison, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Fox, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

As of now, neither Spring Hill nor Fairview have any future games scheduled.
