Volleyball Recap: Thant Zin Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Geneva

Wheaton North posted their closest victory since April 17th on Tuesday. They skirted past the Geneva Vikings 2-1. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Wheaton North got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 18-25, 25-23.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wheaton North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Thant Zin, who had 15 digs. That's the most digs Zin has posted over his last ten matchups. Another player making a difference was Owen Hubner, who had 16 assists.

The win made it two in a row for Wheaton North and bumps their season record up to 16-10. As for Geneva, their loss dropped their record down to 16-13.

Coming up, Wheaton North will challenge Fenwick at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Geneva, they will square off against St. Charles East at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
