Volleyball Recap: Althoff Catholic Takes Down Granite City in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Althoff Catholic had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Granite City Warriors by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory back in April.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Althoff Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rhett Neville, who had 27 assists and three digs. Neville is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 16 or more in each of the last six games he's played.

Althoff Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record this season. As for Granite City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Althoff Catholic will take on Belleville East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Crusaders surely won't give up without a fight. Granite City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
