The Rock Canyon Jaguars will face off against the Cherry Creek Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Rock Canyon's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Cherry Creek has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
On Thursday, Rock Canyon got the win against Liberty by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Jaguars have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Rock Canyon got a great performance from Jacob Woods as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Rock Canyon let Damian Fischer and Zach Perry run wild. Fischer went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Perry scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those four RBI gave Fischer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colton Duman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Rock Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Cherry Creek sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Regis Jesuit on Thursday. The two-run effort marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Ryan Falke tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in May of 2024.
At the plate, Sean Goldy was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Rock Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. Cherry Creek's victory bumped their record up to 3-4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rock Canyon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cherry Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Rock Canyon came out on top in a nail-biter against Cherry Creek in their previous matchup back in May of 2018, sneaking past 5-4. Will Rock Canyon repeat their success, or does Cherry Creek has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
