Basketball Game Preview: West Ashley Wildcats vs. Summerville Green Wave

West Ashley is 0-10 against Summerville since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The West Ashley Wildcats will welcome the Summerville Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. West Ashley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season.

Summerville will be up against a hot West Ashley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. West Ashley took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 87-18 win over Stall. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

West Ashley found their leader in sophomore Destiny Ladson, who went 13 of 21 on her way to 32 points in addition to six assists and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ladson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Elliott, who posted 16 points along with seven assists and five steals.

West Ashley was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Summerville faced Ashley Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Summerville fell 60-48 to Ashley Ridge. The Green Wave haven't had much luck with the Swamp Foxes recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Summerville's defeat dropped their record down to 19-3. As for West Ashley, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

West Ashley was taken down by Summerville 60-29 in their previous matchup last Wednesday. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point West Ashley was down 35-14.
