Baseball Recap: Denham Springs Comes Up Short

Denham Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Walker Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 last Friday.

Denham Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 21-10-1. As for Walker, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Denham Springs will take on rival St. Amant at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Walker is set to square off against their familiar foe East Ascension at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Wildcats' favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Spartans have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
