Basketball Recap: Draper APA Eagles vs. American Leadership Academy Eagles
The Draper APA Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to American Leadership Academy 73-68. Draper APA has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Draper APA's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Urban Baldwin, who scored 25 points along with seven assists. Another player making a difference was Luke Greenwell, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Draper APA's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-14. As for American Leadership Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-10.
Draper APA's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Jayhawks at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. St. Joseph has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for American Leadership Academy, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Maeser Prep Academy is ranked 127th, while the Eagles are ranked 114th).
