Volleyball Recap: Pantego Christian Starts Season with Victory at Home

Pantego Christian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past the Founders Classical Academy Eagles 3-0. The Panthers have beaten the Eagles the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

One reason for the win was Pantego Christian's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-15.

Pantego Christian was led to victory by Keeley Shortes and Jaydyn Jordan. Shortes had 12 assists and eight digs, while Jordan had six digs and four assists. That's the most assists Jordan has posted since back in August of 2024.

Looking ahead, Pantego Christian will square off against Benbrook at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Founders Classical Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' matchup: after the Panthers face off against Kingdom Collegiate Academy, they'll take on Founders Classical Academy again at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
