Basketball Recap: Reagan Morgan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Summit Academy over Timpanogos

After flying high against Wendover on Friday, Summit Academy came back down to earth. The Summit Academy Bears fell just short of the Timpanogos Timberwolves by a score of 47-44 on Friday. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Timberwolves recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Summit Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Reagan Morgan, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 17 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Morgan a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Kita Holmes, who posted 14 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Summit Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive matches.

Summit Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-6. As for Timpanogos, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Summit Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-37 defeat against Kearns on the 28th. As for Timpanogos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 41-32 win against Hillcrest on the 28th.
