Softball Recap: DeWitt Comes Up Short

DeWitt couldn't beat Grand Ledge on Monday even though they stacked eight runs on them in the third inning. The Panthers fell just short of the Comets by a score of 9-8. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost five in a row.

DeWitt now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Grand Ledge, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Comets beat DeWitt by a score of 13-1 later that day.
