Volleyball Recap: Rosemead Falls Despite Big Games from Alyssa Huyhn and Joy Tiet

Rosemead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the El Monte Lions, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

While Rosemead ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Rosemead had strong showings from Joy Tiet, who had 15 digs and two aces, and Alyssa Huyhn, who had 14 digs. Huyhn is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Reina Yeh, who had 14 digs.

Rosemead's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for El Monte, the win snapped their losing streak at five matches and leaves them with a 5-9 record.

Rosemead didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against South El Monte on the 3rd. As for El Monte, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Mountain View on the 3rd.
