Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Hart County's Fourth in Last Five Outings

While Hart County's victory against Thomas Nelson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders' pitcher stepped up to hand the Generals a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted since April 9th.

The result came thanks to Bryson Huff's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Hart County is 5-2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 12-17 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Hart County's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austin Martin, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Gage Owens was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Hart County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-19-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Thomas Nelson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9.
