Basketball Recap: Fairmont Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

Fairmont had won six straight road games and Kaylah Thornton did her part to make it seven on Monday. The Fairmont Firebirds really took it to the Talawanda Brave for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-18 victory thanks in part to Thornton, who went 8 of 16 on her way to 20 points and four steals. The match was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Peyton Adams, who posted seven points and five rebounds. Those five boards gave her a new career-high.

Fairmont's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Talawanda, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairmont will square off against Springfield at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairmont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season. Talawanda has already played their next contest (against Preble Shawnee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
