Basketball Recap: Union Catholic Drops Season-High Score on Medford Tech

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Union Catholic). They breezed past the Medford Tech Jaguars to the tune of 89-48 on Monday. With the Vikings ahead 52-23 at the half, the game was all but over already.

When it comes to explaining why Medford Tech lost, don't look at Nesta Rice. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points. The contest was Rice's 13th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Branson, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Union Catholic's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points over those games. As for Medford Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Union Catholic has already played their next matchup (against KIPP Newark Lab), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Medford Tech, they will square off against Trenton Catholic Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Trenton Catholic Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Medford Tech surely won't give up without a fight.
