Basketball Recap: Jennings County Takes a Loss

Jennings County played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Brownstown Central Braves, falling 82-54. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Braves are ranked 13th).

Despite the loss, Jennings County had strong showings from Jeremiah Davis, who went 8-for-12 on his way to 21 points in addition to five assists and four steals, and Carter Kent, who posted 19 points. That was a full 35.2% of Jennings County's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Omar Gonzalez, who earned seven points.

Jennings County dropped their record down to 8-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Brownstown Central, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Coming up, Jennings County will challenge Columbus East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Columbus East is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season. As for Brownstown Central, they will face off against Bedford North Lawrence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
