Volleyball Recap: West Carroll Comes Up Short

West Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Dubuque Warriors. If the Thunder were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Warriors when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, West Carroll sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-15, 17-25, 25-16.

Courtney Knop paced West Carroll's offense, picking up five kills. Knop got some help from Audri Wilcox and her 13 assists. Wilcox was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

West Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for East Dubuque, the victory snapped their losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 7-8 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Carroll will square off against rival Stockton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, East Dubuque is set to face off against their familiar foe Warren at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
