Recap: Eagle Valley Devils vs. Middle Park Panthers

The Eagle Valley Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 23 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 47-24 margin over Middle Park. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Eagle Valley.

Josie Fitzsimmons was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Zakia Shreeve, who scored 14 points.

Middle Park's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Rome, who scored five points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rome has scored all season.

The win got Eagle Valley back to even at 4-4. As for Middle Park, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Eagle Valley and Fruita Monument will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Fruita Monument presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eagle Valley in Colorado (Fruita Monument is ranked 20th, while Eagle Valley is ranked 174th). Middle Park's road trip will continue as they head out to face Battle Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on December 18th. Hopefully Battle Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 last Saturday.
