Soccer Game Preview: Republic vs. Springfield Catholic

Republic hasn't had much luck against Springfield Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tigers will face off against the Fighting Irish at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Republic had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the seven-goal drubbing they dealt Lebanon on Thursday. The Tigers never let the Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Republic haven't had any issues with Lebanon recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Springfield Catholic). They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Bishop DuBourg on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Republic's record is now 7-3. As for Springfield Catholic, their record now sits at 6-2.
