Softball Game Preview: South Rowan Raiders vs. Enka Jets

The South Rowan Raiders will take on the Enka Jets on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (South Rowan 3.9, Enka 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

South Rowan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Southern Guilford.

Remi Hagerty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Leisha Carter was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cressley Patterson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Enka had already won 20 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it 21 on Tuesday. They blew past the Lions 17-0. The Jets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by seven runs or more this season.

South Rowan is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Enka, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-1.
