            Marquette Catholic entered their  matchup against Hammond Central  on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Marquette Catholic Blazers took  a  48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hammond Central Wolves. If the Blazers were looking for revenge after losing  55-53 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Marquette Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Livia Balling, who  posted eight  points and six  boards. That's the most  rebounds  Balling has posted since back in November of 2024.  Laniah Davis was another key player,  dropping  a double-double on 15 points and ten  rebounds.
 Even though they lost, Marquette Catholic  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 12  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least 12  offensive rebounds in three consecutive  contests.
Marquette Catholic's loss  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 12-4. As for Hammond Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marquette Catholic will head out to  face off against DeMotte Christian  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Hammond Central, they are taking a road trip to  square off against Whiting  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
