The Wayne Valley Indians will look to defend their home court against the Wayne Hills Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wayne Valley comes in on seven and Wayne Hills on three.
Wayne Valley put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against West Milford as Wayne Valley made off with a 66-45 victory. Given Wayne Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while West Milford is ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Omar Ali was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Anthony Apicella was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Wayne Hills beat Hawthorne 41-33 on Saturday.
Wayne Valley is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Wayne Hills, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
Wayne Valley skirted past Wayne Hills 49-46 in their previous meeting back in January. Does Wayne Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wayne Hills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
