Basketball Game Preview: John Milledge Academy Trojans vs. Frederica Academy

The John Milledge Academy Trojans will challenge Frederica Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

John Milledge Academy heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Friday. They took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tattnall Square Academy. While losing is never fun, John Milledge Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while Tattnall Square Academy is ranked 180th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Isaiah Johnson, who went 10-for-19 on his way to 24 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Asa Wall, who went 7-for-11 to rack up 14 points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, John Milledge Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Frederica Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 51-46 to Westminster Schools of Augusta.

Frederica Academy's record now sits at 15-7. As for John Milledge Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-14.
