Basketball Recap: Cumberland County Takes a Loss

Cumberland County suffered their biggest loss since November 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Stone Memorial Panthers and fell 78-44. The defeat continues a trend for the Jets in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.

It was another big night for Cade Capps, who went 20 of 27 on his way to 44 points and six boards for Stone Memorial. That makes it four consecutive games in which Capps has scored at least a third of Stone Memorial's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayne Bosanko, who posted four points and seven assists.

Cumberland County's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Stone Memorial, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cumberland County will host Upperman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stone Memorial, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Stone Memorial Panthers take on the DeKalb County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
