Football Recap: Santee Warriors vs. Shelton Bulldogs

Santee lost against Shelton back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warriors were dealt a 67-7 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. On the bright side, the seven- point effort marked the Warriors' highest-scoring contest to date.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed six in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Payton Ferguson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Shelton was led to victory by Jhet Hagan and Justin Wiehn. Hagan rushed for 60 yards and a pair of scores, while Wiehn rushed for 44 yards and two touchdowns. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Wiehn a new career-high. Owen Johnson was in the mix too, providing Shelton with two TDs.

As for Shelton, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Stuart at 3:00 p.m. The Broncos' defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
