It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Highland had no problem doing just that on Friday. They snuck past the Forge Christian Fury with a 41-35 victory. Highland's win was all the more impressive since the Fury were averaging only 15 points allowed on the season.

Highland had a senior duo take command as Elijah Elder gained 157 total yards and Tyler Varra threw for 139 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Varra's passing game has become a key predictor of the Huskies' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise.
Highland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.
