Kenesaw suffers third straight loss at home

Recap: Kenesaw Blue Devils vs. Silver Lake Mustangs

The Kenesaw Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 63-34 loss at the hands of Silver Lake. Kenesaw was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

Despite the defeat, Kenesaw saw an underclassman step up: Adam Denkert scored 14 points. Denkert also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Blake Steer was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Kenesaw struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Silver Lake had a senior duo take command as Jordan Faimon dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds and Tayten Menke scored 20 points along with six steals. The match was Faimon's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Keaton Karr, who scored four points along with five steals.

Kenesaw bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Silver Lake, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Kenesaw will head out on the road to face off against Axtell at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Axtell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kenesaw in Nebraska (Axtell is ranked 97th, while Kenesaw is ranked 200th). Silver Lake will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tri County Northeast at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th.
