Baseball Recap: Eagle Has No Trouble Against Timberline

After losing to Timberline the last time they met, Eagle decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Mustangs blew past the Wolves 15-3 on Wednesday. Considering the Mustangs have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brady Ford was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Swanstrom, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Eagle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timberline only posted a batting average of .250.

The victory made it two in a row for Eagle and bumps their season record up to 13-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Timberline, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.

Looking ahead, Eagle will head out on the road to challenge Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.3, the Mavericks 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Timberline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
