Volleyball Recap: Arbor View Falls Short Against Ranked Coronado

Arbor View faced Coronado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Aggies came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Aggies have suffered against the Cougars since March 10, 2022.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Coronado scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-18.

Risden Miller paced Arbor View's offense, picking up seven kills. Miller got some help from David Haldeman and his 25 assists. Finally, Graham Blanchard and Kenyon Wickliffe kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked three attacks.

Arbor View's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-15. As for Coronado, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 29-2.

Arbor View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Silverado on the 16th. As for Coronado, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Green Valley on the 14th.
