Basketball Game Preview: Oakhill Christian Royals vs. Rock County Christian Eagles

Oakhill Christian and Rock County Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Oakhill Christian Royals will square off against the Rock County Christian Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oakhill Christian has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Rock County Christian will come in with three straight victories.

Oakhill Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a hard 75-60 fall against Badger State Baptist on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Rock County Christian hadn't done well against Maranatha Baptist recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Rock County Christian breezed past Maranatha Baptist to the tune of 95-44. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Rock County Christian's win came from a few key players Oakhill Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Derek Quinn, who went 7 for 8 from beyond the arc to rack up 35 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Macen Osland, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 23 points along with eight assists and five steals.

Rock County Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in three consecutive contests.

Rock County Christian's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.3 points over those games. As for Oakhill Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-21.

Oakhill Christian took a serious blow against Rock County Christian in their previous matchup back in January, falling 68-18. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Oakhill Christian was down 33-10.
