Recap: Christian Academy Saints vs. Pee Dee Academy Eagles
It was a good run, but the Christian Academy Saints unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 30-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pee Dee Academy. Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pee Dee Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Grace Owens and Payton Rumley certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Owens scored 12 points, while Rumley scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-5. As for Pee Dee Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-6 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christian Academy on the road again on Friday and play against Florence Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Pee Dee Academy, they will square off against Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
