An interstate matchup between Newcomb (N.M.) and Monument Valley (Utah) provided four of the top statistical performances of the week, as reported to MaxPreps.
Newcomb defeated Monument Valley 44-34 behind the passing attack of Jerimiah Barber, who threw for 558 yards and five touchdowns. His leading receiver, Harold Smith, had eight catches for 280 yards and two scores.
Not to be outdone, Monument Valley quarterback Lawrence Atine threw for 493 yards and five touchdowns and his top receiver, Devin Wauneka, had 10 catches for 267 yards and two touchdowns.
A notable name among the rushing leaders is Aledo's Johnathan Gray, who rambled for 336 yards and five touchdowns in a 50-7 win over Weatherford.
