For the second straight game, Perquimans will face off against Martin County. The Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Gators at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Perquimans is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Perquimans needed a bit of extra time to put away Martin County. They won by a run and slipped past the Gators 7-6. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Maddux Thach was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jacob Askew was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Perquimans' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Martin County, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-2.
