Baseball Recap: Upperman Drops Highest Score of Season Against Dekalb County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Upperman). They put the hurt on the DeKalb County Tigers with a sharp 13-2 win on Tuesday. The Bees haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Karsen Holroyd made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Rylan Case was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Carson Shupe, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Upperman's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for DeKalb County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Upperman will host Watertown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for DeKalb County, they will take on Franklin County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
