Basketball Recap: Lake Country Lutheran Lightning vs. Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves

The Lake Country Lutheran Lightning entered their tilt with the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. Lake Country Lutheran walked away with a 59-48 win over the Timberwolves on Friday. Given Lake Country Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sam Hans was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Skrzypchak, who scored eight points.

Living Word Lutheran lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dailyn Tyler, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tyler has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ryde Ehley, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.

Lake Country Lutheran's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. As for Living Word Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Country Lutheran will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. As for Living Word Lutheran, they will face off against the Patriots at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
