Baseball Recap: Lakeside Comes Up Short

Lakeside lost a heartbreaker to Druid Hills when they met back in February of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Monday. The Lakeside Vikings fell 8-4 to the Druid Hills Red Devils. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lakeside got a good showing from Maurice Underwood, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Lakeside saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Druid Hills, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

Lakeside wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-2 victory against Oglethorpe County on the 17th. As for Druid Hills, they will square off against Chamblee at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
