Recap: Tabb Tigers vs. Poquoson Islanders

The Tabb Tigers fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Poquoson Islanders on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Islanders 62-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Despite the defeat, Tabb had strong showings from Landon Powell, who scored 17 points along with five steals, and Micah Marbra, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Powell has scored all season. Owen Reeves was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Poquoson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dayne Galacgac, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khaleo Smith, who scored 14 points.

Tabb bumped their record down to 3-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Poquoson, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7.

Tabb will take on Jamestown at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jamestown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Tabb likes a good challenge. As for Poquoson, they will head out on the road to face off against Nandua at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
