Strom Thurmond and Saluda pushed the score to 6-4 the last time they played Saluda, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Rebels who were credited with the win. The Strom Thurmond Rebels got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Saluda Tigers' three. This was a revenge game for Strom Thurmond: when they faced off against Saluda back in March, they had to take a 6-4 defeat.

Strom Thurmond's one-goal win came courtesy of Anderson Escalante, who's now up to 14 this season.

Strom Thurmond's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. As for Saluda, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Strom Thurmond will take on Dixie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dixie will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Strom Thurmond surely won't give up without a fight. As for Saluda, they have already played their next game, a 2-2 victory against Batesburg-Leesville on the 25th.
