Basketball Game Preview: South Garner Titans vs. Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs

The South Garner Titans will face off against the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

South Garner took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Corinth Holders by a score of 62-51.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Garner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Garrison Dean, who posted 16 points. What's more, Dean also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ekene Ogboko, who had eight points in addition to 17 boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Southeast Raleigh came up short against Clayton on Tuesday and fell 77-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (59), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Southeast Raleigh has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for South Garner, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-8.

South Garner took their win against Southeast Raleigh in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 75-52. Does South Garner have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southeast Raleigh turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
