League recap: Searcy races to league-leading run for Lamar County

AA Region 4 recap November 5, 2013

Quay Searcy of Lamar County ran for the longest rushing play in AA Region 4 this season against Macon County last week. Searcy ran for 99 yards on the play and finished with 99 on the day as his team bested the Bulldogs.

Lamar County added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Macon County, 48-0. The win marks ninth in a row for the Franklin Stephens' team.

The Trojans' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lance Austin threw for 48 and 1 touchdown and LJ Smith had 20 yards receiving. On the ground Searcy contributed 99 yards. Searcy helped Lamar County's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 28 yards.

Lamar County's dynamic duo of Austin and Smith proved to be unstoppable against Larry Harold's team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Searcy helped Lamar County's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 28 yards.

Searcy provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Trojans defeated the Bulldogs. Searcy's favorite target this week was Smith, who caught 2 passes for 20 yards.

Northeast's Davion Anderson and Ta'Korian Denson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Anderson has thrown for 777 yards this season, while Denson has 23 catches for 443 yards. Lawrence Austin from Lamar County leads the league in rushing with 734 yards.

An important game coming up in AA Region 4 this week will be when Bleckley County takes on the Raiders. The Royals are in third place, while Northeast is in second place.

Taylor County took down Crawford County 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
