Basketball Recap: Nate Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pike Central over North Knox

Pike Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Knox Warriors. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Pike Central lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nate Davis, who went 5 for 11 en route to 18 points. Jiles Mason was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

North Knox's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyson Parker led the charge by going 5 of 8 on his way to 22 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Kerns, who posted 13 points.

Pike Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for North Knox, they pushed their record up to 5-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Pike Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-28 loss against Washington on the 25th. As for North Knox, they are taking a road trip to challenge Sullivan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
