Basketball Recap: Benedictine Comes Up Short

Benedictine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Providence Christian Academy Storm, falling 69-36.

Providence Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caleb Paige led the charge by shooting 63% from the field on his way to 15 points and eight boards. Paige's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Mason Malone, who went 8-for-12 en route to 17 points and three steals.

Benedictine's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Providence Christian Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benedictine will host Hilton Head Island at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Providence Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Loganville Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
