Basketball Recap: Kennedy Catholic Takes a Loss

Kennedy Catholic lost against Rogers back in December of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Kennedy Catholic Lancers took a 77-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rogers Rams. While the Lancers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 16-8 in the first quarter.

Rogers' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Treyshawn Weatherspoon, who went 5-for-12 en route to 17 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. The match was Weatherspoon's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Nick Sanders was another key player, going 6-for-9 to rack up 17 points and six steals.

Kennedy Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Rogers, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Looking ahead, Kennedy Catholic will challenge Bonney Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennedy Catholic is facing Bonney Lake at the right time seeing as Bonney Lake is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Rogers, they will face off against Auburn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Auburn sitting on five straight wins and Rogers on four.
