Football Recap: Trinity Collegiate Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Davidson Lynch and Desmond Williams II

After flying high against Camden Military last Friday, Trinity Collegiate came back down to earth. The contest between the Titans and the Wilson Hall Barons didn't end well, with the Titans falling 35-18. The Titans gained 78 more yards on the day, but it was the Barons that made the best use of them.

Trinity Collegiate's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Desmond Williams II, who picked up 238 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Davidson Lynch, who threw for 347 yards and one TD. A healthy portion of that aerial production (83 yards to be exact) also went to Garrison Copeland.

Milling Galloway had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 169 yards and three scores on only 11 carries for Wilson Hall. Galloway's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Ben McLaurin was another key player, rushing for 59 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries.

Trinity Collegiate's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Wilson Hall, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Trinity Collegiate and Laurence Manning Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Wilson Hall, they will take on Florence Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Galloway and Andrew Miller.
